2019 DOGFARM Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

Our 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a single vineyard just outside of the Rutherford AVA in Napa Valley. This particular site is on a hillside, with slopes that benefit from cool air sweeping up through the valley in the evenings and early mornings. Grapes here receive plenty of ripening sunshine but retain fine acidity due to this cooling influence.

• 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc
• 70% French Oak. Aged for 22 months in barrels; bottled unfined and unfiltered.

The 2019 is a classic, with red and black fruit on the nose and a mix of cinnamon, leather and herb notes. Dark in color with a full body, there’s a hint of fruit sweetness and nicely integrated French oak. The palate showcases licorice, blackberries, blueberries and tobacco notes with well-dissolved tannins and great tension. A long finish with nice balanced acidity and some savory notes from the Cabernet Franc makes this wine unique. Drink now or over the next 10+ years.
